 My
husband and I have bought and sold property from
Jackson, WY, Couer D'Alene, Idaho, Texas, Florida, New
Hampshire, and now North Carolina. We have never had
better representation than we had with Jane Wallin. That
might sound like flattery rather than praise, but I
shall illustrate.
We made two trips to Wolf Laurel before we found our
"dream home." Jane showed us everything on the mountain
for sale, including several lots. When it looked as if
we would not find an existing home, we considered
seriously building a new home. Jane's husband, Freddy,
the number one builder in the area, accompanied us. He
showed us the pluses and minuses of each piece of raw
land. He even walked the boundaries.
On the next to last day, Jane showed us our "dream
home." We never considered it as it did not have one of
our "musts." Jane gently persuaded us to look at the
cottage, and we fell in love.
Later, Jane helped us with the closing. She is a fount
of knowledge from providing local craftsmen to lists of
utilities we would need.
Every Realtor should have the basics, knowledge,
honesty, courtesy. Jane stands out as having all the
basics, but she also has the determination to please her
customer. She goes the extra mile.

 “Look to the mountains to give you peace” have been the words by which we have lived for over a year now. How wonderful it has been to leave behind the tension and stress of fast-paced lives as we enter the gates of our beautiful mountain neighborhood.

 On my retirement from an intense thirty-year counseling career five years ago, my wife and I looked all over Western North Carolina for a summer home in the cool NC mountains. We wanted to get out of the Florida heat and find a peaceful place to pursue our interests. After looking at many other areas, our search was over when we found Mountain Laurel Realty. The home had been constructed by Wallin Builders several years earlier and we engaged Freddie Wallin to remodel it to suit our needs over the following winter. The best thing about our experience with Mountain Laurel Realty was Jane’s “straight talk”, honesty, expertise and knowledge of the area. We have also discovered that the Wallins’ commitment and services didn’t end with the sale. We continue to receive excellent services in maintaining our home while we are away with their typical superb responsiveness and high quality. Jane and Freddie have both become “friends” you can count on.

We found Wolf Laurel after looking long and hard for a place in the mountains to escape the Florida heat.
Our eternal thanks go to the friends who invited us to spend time in their villa and who talked us into building a home instead of waiting for one to come available – that’s when we met Jane and Freddie built our home, and we are happy to report that was a pretty “painless” process for us. We love the care put into our “Freddie house.” We began as Wallin clients and ended up as Wallin friends and they continue to be involved with the care of our bit of Paradise here in Wolf Laurel – Thanks Jane & Freddie.

 Dear Jane & Freddie,
Gwynne and I consider that day in October, 2005 that we stopped at the gas station in Mars Hill to be one of the most important days of our lives.
It was there we met Jane, who was on her “day off”, but graciously agreed to lead us to Wolf Laurel and show us around. We weren’t even sure what we were looking for or where we wanted to settle, but Jane asked the right questions, was patient, showed us a variety of homes and views and told us about Wolf Laurel. When we walked in the home we eventually purchased, it was “WOW”. This is exactly what we were looking for. It had everything: almost new, wide open, spectacular views and we could see it as our new home. Best of all, it was a one of a kind “Freddie Wallin House” and had all of the quality and little details that make it special,
Jane has been so helpful in helping us to get acclimated to our new mountain lifestyle. As newlyweds and full-timers, that has been important to us. The people of Wolf Laurel and Madison County are friendly and have welcomed us with open arms.
After moving in, we wanted to make some alterations to the house to suit our needs and Freddie and his men seemed to know exactly what we wanted. What a pleasure to work with! They completed the work quickly (while we were out of town) and the quality is fantastic.
