The trail itself runs over 2,000 miles from Mount Katahdin in Maine to Springer Mountain in Georgia and is one of the most popular backpacking and hiking destinations in the world. Guests and residents of Wolf Laurel can enjoy their own starting point at Big Bald Mountain, as the trail runs contiguous to the property.

Regardless of your skill level or experience, the Appalachian Trail is a must see for everyone enjoys hiking in Western North Carolina. The trail is accommodating for everyone, regardless if you’re looking for a short day hike or multiple week backpacking trips. The community of Wolf Laurel even has hiking groups you can join so you don’t have to venture out on your own. There are several access points on the property, and we even have our own nature trail.
